Do self-identified perfectionists perceive their perfectionist tendencies help them navigate their work life?
This project is a part of the final year of BSc Psychology degree at the University of Greenwich and
aims to explore the perspectives on organisational behaviour and dynamics from self-identified perfectionists
(a personality trait characterised by setting high expectations for oneself, striving for flawlessness, and being overly self-critical when standards are not met) within the workplace. The research seeks to understand how perfectionists navigate and experience various aspects of organisational behaviour, such as feedback, expectations and deadlines and other workplace dynamics.
To take part in this questionnaire, we require participants to:
-
Self-identify as a perfectionist
(having high standards for themselves and others, not reaching flawlessness which may lead to be being self-critical and having a fear of making mistakes)
-
Must be 18 years or older to take part
-
Have current or past employment experience
Participation is completely voluntary.
Prior to taking part on this study, you must
read the consent form and confirm your understanding and willingness to take part
in this study. Afterwards, you will be presented with the questionnaire. We will ask you a few demographic questions about you and you will continue to our four open-ended questions about your experiences in the workplace.
We will not ask you to provide any identifiable information and you are free to skip any questions you prefer not to answer. We do not predict this questionnaire to cause mental discomfort, however, if you find talking about your job experience to be distressing, we recommend not to take part.
The data collected will be kept safely in a password protected laptops and databases until the
7th of April 2030
when it will be
permanently destroyed
. The findings may be published in academic journals; however, the published data will not contain any identifiable information and will not be linked to you in any way.
All participants are free to withdraw from the study at any time without providing any reason. If you wish to withdraw your data from the study, you may do so by emailing the researchers with your personal code within two weeks after submitting your response.
